XaaS encompasses many cloud-based services, including Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS). It seeks to eliminate these distinctions and focus more on how all services can be offered over the internet.

The Open Group has around 600 members, including Amazon, Microsoft, and Nissan Motors. TOGAF typically describes the building blocks and tools needed for four main enterprise pillars: Business, Application, Data, and Technology.
