Request Types System | Another Great Reason to Use DeskDirector

Published on: | Updated on:

The team here at DeskDirector have been busy working for the last while on our new Request Types engine.

This system is designed to replace ConnectWise's Portal Types and our previous Request Types engine used for Autotask partners.

There are many advantages with this new system, and more on the way. In this video we explore just 3 of the benefits. These are;

  • The ability to include and exclude companies per type
  • The ability to filter down to the contact level
  • The ability to clone and copy settings between types

Check out the video below and have a great week!

Hi, and welcome to another One Minute Wednesday. Here at DeskDirector we’ve been working for the last little while on our new request types engine. Now it’s effectively going to replace ConnectWise’s Portal types and also our previous Autotask request type engine. It’s got many advantages over the previous systems, but here’s a look at just 3 of those. Firstly, we’ve added include and exclude filters, that way you get a type like ‘I need help with my ERP system’ that could not show for most of the companies you look after, but will show for those who have the ERP system. Another option might be ‘I need help with my email system’ which will show for all except those clients that maybe don’t look after their email. The next thing we’ve added is the ability to include and exclude at the contact level. That way you can have a type like ‘Please set up a new employee’ which doesn’t show for most of the companies, but will show for certain contacts and certain clients. And the third thing is the ability to clone types and also take the settings from one type and copy it to many. The new request type engine is available for use today from the Request Type section of the DeskDirector admin console. Autotask buttons have already been migrated to the new system and ConnectWise partners can go there today and go through a simple migration process. Head over, check it out, and we’d love to know what you think. Have a fantastic week and we’ll see you next time. Bye for now!
