Trick to Share Different Quote Types With Clients: Quosal & QuoteWerks

Written by Phill Claxton | June 24, 2015

As many of you should know we have great integrations with Quosal and QuoteWerks to show quotes in DeskDirector.

From time to time though you might want to share a PDF of a quote, a web quote or simply a web page in the quotes section.

In this One Minute Wednesday we share a little trick that allows you to do this. Those not using Quosal or QuoteWerks could share quotes with clients using this mechanism!

NOTE: This is ConnectWise only for now, watch this space Autotaskers

Hi, and welcome to another one-minute Wednesday. Now, as many of you know, we have a great integration between Quosal and ConnectWise that allows your clients to be able to view their quotes inside the DeskDirector interface. Today we’d thought we’d share a little tip that will allow you to share any document using that same integration so you could show them a PDF or any web page in the quote section of DeskDirector. Let’s check it out.

First off, we want to get the URL for the thing we want to embed. Now this could be a PDF, any document, an online quote—whatever you’d like.  I am going to take a URL here from Google Drive just as an example and copy that to the clip board. Coming over to ConnectWise going to my opportunity and coming down to documents, I would choose URL and paste in the URL in this case from Google Drive.

Once you pasted that in, you’ll notice the title is the same as the URL. You need to make sure that says,  online and hit Save. Now, coming over to DeskDirector, I am going to go to the recommendation section which we’ve renamed Quotes. Click on my opportunity, which I added before. And you’ll see the URL will load in here. In this case, here is the PDF. So this is a great place for you to add quotes from other solutions or really share anything with your clients.

Now, bear in mind if you’re using the web version of DeskDirector, some web pages don’t like being embedded. So it’s worth testing before you use this and deploy it out to your clients. I hope you got some value out of that.  But either way, as always, have a great week, and we’ll see you next time. Bye for now.
